Currently, 125 rural families in Tajie Village of Zhaxue Town of Maizhokunggar County in Lhasa have received solar stoves from TAR Auditing Department.

In the past two years, TAR Auditing Department has taken various measures to help Zhaxue Town, the poorest town in Maizhokunggar County. According to one of their poverty reduction projects, they will provide 900 needy families with solar stoves at a cost of 400,000 yuan (about 53,333 USD) in three batches since this November..

After the 17th Party Congress, TAR Auditing Department decided to contribute more to locals to improve their living conditions. Besides, TAR Science and Technology Department has provided support to the poverty reduction project, according to Ngawang Drolkar, head of TAR Auditing Department.

These measures have solved locals' difficulties and make them very grateful. Dondrup Tsering, leader of Zhaxue Town, said,"125 households in Tajie Village have benefited a lot from the solar stoves which can not only warm people in winter but also improve the resource use efficiency." "Thanks to the government, later on we will not worry about firewood anymore," an excited villager said after he received his solar stove.
