Recently, I took part in a Hand-in-Hand Program. There I met Cang Drolkar, a 12-year-old girl, same age as me, and naturally we became best friends.
She's from Lhasa, the capital city of Tibet, China's highest autonomous region. Her family name Cang means "Policeman" which is also what she dreams to be when she grows up. Her first name Drolkar stands for "fairy girl". That's ture for her as her plateau rosy face always smiles like a lovely fairy girl.
During her weeklong stay in Beijing, we two visited many places of interests together with the Hand-in-Hand Program team and I got to know Drolkar better and better.
Drolkar has deep love for her parents, which is considered as traditional Chinese ethics. One day when we come to pick cherries in a farm not far from central Beijing, Drolkar told me that she would "bring the lovely fruit to Mom because she never had a taste of it."
Drolkar has her own way to express her affection. When we took on a bird's eye view on Beijng Central TV Tower, she was so excited to told me that the "buildings are as high as rods, cars as small as beetles and roads as smooth as hada scarf!"
Though Drolkar has been back to Lhasa, her voice is still lingering around me: "I love colorful Beijing, the capital of our motherland, and I love Tibet, my hometown. For both of them, I will study hard to help build their beautiful future."
